About Us
Toronto Simpson Chinese Alliance Church(TSCAC) is church-planted by the Scarborough Chinese Alliance Church in 1989. In the beginning, the congregation was predominantly Hong Kong immigrants. At that time, TSCAC had no fixed church property and we met at a school on Sundays. Until 1996, we bought this address as our permanent property.
Following the change in demography over the years, a second generation Chinese emerged. TSCAC hence inaugurated our English Sunday Service and ministry in the year 2000 to meet their needs. In view of the increasing immigration population from the mainland China, there are major surge of Chinese population in the Scarborough area. Caring for these Chinese immigrants, TSCAC started the Mandarin Ministry in 2002. Starting from 2010, the Mandarin Ministry has its own Mandarin Sunday Service weekly and became independent in 2018.
On each Sunday, TSCAC Cantonese Sunday service starts at 11am, while English Sunday service starts at 9:15am. Besides Sunday Services, we have various fellowship groups and small groups catering the needs of different people. We have also a strong and vibrant children ministry nurturing young children.

Our Saviour
The cross stands for salvation through the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, the Son of God. "…God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life." ~ John 3:16
Our Sanctifier
The laver (wash basin) is representative of sanctification, that daily cleansing from sin by the power of the indwelling Holy Spirit.
"May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. The one who calls you is faithful and he will do it." ~ I Thessalonians 5:23, 24
Our Healer
The pitcher speaks of oil for divine life and physical healing that come through obedience to God's Word.
"Surely he took up our infirmities and carried our sorrows, yet we considered him stricken by God, smitten by him, and afflicted… and by his wounds, we are healed." ~ Isaiah :4, 5b
Our Coming King
The crown symbolizes the return of our Lord Jesus Christ as King of kings and Lord of lords.
"This same Jesus, who has been taken from you into heaven, will come back in the same way you have seen him go into heaven." ~ Acts 1:11b
Our mission is to equip each other in the Word of the LORD, to make disciples of Jesus Christ, and to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
Statement of Faith

God
There is one God, who is infinitely perfect, existing eternally in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Jesus Christ
Jesus Christ is true God and true man. He was conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary. He died upon the cross, the Just for the unjust, as a substitutionary sacrifice, and all who believe in Him are justified on the ground of His shed blood. He arose from the dead according to the Scriptures. He is now at the right hand of the Majesty on high as our great High Priest. He will come again to establish His kingdom of righteousness and peace.

Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is a divine Person, sent to indwell, guide, teach and empower the believer, and to convince the world of sin, of righteousness and of judgment.

Bible
The Old and New Testaments, inerrant as originally given, were verbally inspired by God and are a complete revelation of His will for the salvation of people. They constitute the divine and only rule of Christian faith and practice.

Sin
Humankind, originally created in the image and likeness of God, fell through disobedience, incurring thereby both physical and spiritual death. All people are born with a sinful nature, are separated from the life of God, and can be saved only through the atoning work of the Lord Jesus Christ. The destiny of the impenitent and unbelieving is existence forever in conscious torment, but that of the believer is everlasting joy and bliss.

Freedom from Sin
Salvation has been provided only through Jesus Christ. Those who repent and believe in Him are united with Christ through the Holy Spirit and are thereby regenerated (born again), justified, sanctified and granted the gift of eternal life as adopted children of God.

Christian Living
It is the will of God that in union with Christ each believer should be sanctified thoroughly thereby being separated from sin and the world and fully dedicated to God, receiving power for holy living and sacrificial and effective service toward the completion of Christ's commission.
This is accomplished through being filled with the Holy Spirit which is both a distinct event and progressive experience in the life of the believer.

Healing
Provision is made in the redemptive work of the Lord Jesus Christ for the healing of the mortal body. Prayer for the sick and anointing with oil as taught in the Scriptures are privileges for the Church in this present age.

Church
The universal Church, of which Christ is the Head, consists of all those who believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, are redeemed through His blood, regenerated by the Holy Spirit, and commissioned by Christ to go into all the world as a witness, preaching the Gospel to all nations.
The local church, the visible expression of the universal Church, is a body of believers in Christ who are joined together to worship God, to observe the ordinances of Baptism and the Lord's Supper, to pray, to be edified through the Word of God, to fellowship, and to testify in word and deed to the good news of salvation both locally and globally. The local church enters into relationships with other like-minded churches for accountability, encouragement and mission.

Life after death
There shall be a bodily resurrection of the just and of the unjust; for the former, a resurrection unto life; for the latter, a resurrection unto judgment.

Second Coming of Christ
The second coming of the Lord Jesus Christ is imminent and will be personal and visible. As the believer’s blessed hope, this vital truth is an incentive for holy living and sacrificial service toward the completion of Christ's commission.

Senior Pastor
Rev. Tony Wong

Pastor Tony is the Senior Pastor of our church. Born in Hong Kong and came to Toronto when he was 15 years old. After he received his MDiv degree at Tyndale University in Toronto in 2004, he has been pastoring Chinese churches.
Pastor Tony is passionate about studying and understanding the unique features of Canadian Chinese churches. Pastor Tony received his PhD degree in Educational Studies at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in 2024. He has a great passion for serving the church and building up the body of Christ through preaching, leading, and shepherding, so that, as disciples, we can reach out to the Chinese community and beyond.
Pastor Tony and his wife, Graf, enjoy cooking, hiking and reading. Tony still enjoys playing basketball with others.
Cantonese Ministry Pastor
Pastor Leo To
杜鑫傳道
Pastor Leo To serves as the Cantonese Ministry pastor, undertaking pastoral care and administrative leadership. He leads the Cantonese Board of Deacons and administering to the Cantonese Ministry. He also serves as the fellowship pastor of two fellowships, dedicated to nurturing the spiritual growth of believers.
Pastor Leo is also actively involved in evangelism, including evangelistic teams, telephone care, worship services, community outreach, evangelistic Coffee House and worship services at Yee Hong Centre.
Pastor Leo is deeply committed to the gospel and passionate about spreading God's word. He is enthusiastic about leading his congregation to a deeper experience of and a closer relationship with God through profound yet accessible and heart-moving sermons.
Prior to entering full-time ministry, Pastor Leo dedicated over two decades to the field of computer technology research and development. He obtained his Master of Divinity degree at Tyndale University. He also serves with the Shower of Blessing and Voice of One Heart.
English Ministry Pastor
Rev. David Li
李大治牧師
Pastor David Li serves as the English Pastor, overseeing the English congregation, in collaboration with the dedicated leaders of the English Ministry Core (EMC) committee.
Pastor David graduated from Toronto Baptist Seminary and commenced his tenure at TSCAC in April 2011. He is deeply committed to the conviction that ministry must be rooted in the Word of God and centered on the Gospel of Jesus Christ, expressed through faithful preaching and teaching, which informs every facet of ecclesiastical life and service.
Pastor David and his wife, Vickie, have one daughter and live in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Outside of ministry, he enjoys the study of spiritual literature, watching documentaries, and working out. Additionally, he is an enthusiast of soccer and welcome opportunities to engage with others who share an interest in the sport.
Children's Ministry Pastor
Pastor Alice Li
李尹麗女傳道
Pastor Alice serves as the Children’s Pastor at Toronto Simpson Chinese Alliance Church. Prior to entering full-time pastoral ministry, she built a foundational career as an IT professional — an experience that honed her organizational and strategic skills. Her extensive leadership journey to God includes serving as the Treasurer on the Executive Committee of the Canadian Chinese Alliance Churches Association (CCACA), an Eastern District Intercessor, and a facilitator for "Deeper Into Life and Mission."
For many years, God cultivated her ministry gifts as a lay leader across various churches and parachurch organizations, deeply embedding a heart for discipleship and evangelism. Responding to God's definitive call to full-time ministry, her ultimate passion is to invite others to encounter and experience the transformative love of the Triune God. Pastor Alice is particularly dedicated to nurturing the next generation, longing to see them grow daily in Christlikeness with the Holy Spirit so they may glow for His glory.
Based in Toronto, she is a proud mother to two adult sons and a doting grandmother.

Miss Rainbow Lam
林寶華小姐
Rainbow immigrated to Toronto from Hong Kong in 1997 and is the proud mother of two adult sons. During her sons' high school years, she served as Chair of the Chinese Parents Association at Agincourt Collegiate Institute, where she developed a passion for serving and supporting families in the community.
Rainbow began attending Scarborough Community Alliance Church and was baptized in 2016, deepening her faith and commitment to Christian service. In 2022, she joined Toronto Simpson Chinese Alliance Church (TSCAC) as an Office Administrative Assistant. In this role, she supports the pastoral team and contributes to the administrative, operational, and ministry functions of the church.
Known for her warm, welcoming spirit, organizational skills, and heart for service, Rainbow is dedicated to helping create an environment where the church community can grow in faith, fellowship, and outreach.
